The project was intrigued by challenging the inactive side of architecture. Through applying the concept of a band jamming to architectural design, the project attempted to create a piece of architecture that could only exist in the very present moment.

The water park, located in Porto, Portugal, was inspired by a study into the relationship between humans and the music created through the jamming in a band, assimilating the process of which with one’s endeavor in design. The building utilized water as a key medium for interaction, with architectural configurations acting as instruments in order to allow for unexpected events to take place within in the architecture and in the wider environment. The main goal of the project was to apply a similar style of dialogue found in band jamming to the design of a water park, to enable a nonverbal exchange back and forth between the architecture and its users.
